Description

Born and raised by his mother in Philadelphia, Martin Roger Boyd considered himself pretty well off, not wanting for much as a kid. His life took an unexpected turn while attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2009, he was arrested and sentenced to 8.5-20 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Initially overcome with feelings of hate, depression, aggression, noneliness, and everything in between, Boyd refused to allow himself to be another statistic. Motivated by his mother, he took the time during his incarceration to learn about himself.

He started tutoring, which led to mentoring, and eventually became a gym instructor. Along each step he remained determined to shift the paradigm people have regarding previously incarcerated individuals.

Today he is a free business owner and mentor with a multitude of plans in the works! He is TRIUMPHANT!

Come hear him speak 114 Jane Leonard Hall (HSS) September 28 @ 6 PM
