About

The purpose of the Lutheran Student Movement at IUP is:

  • To support and advance the strengthening and development of the faith and life of students through their participation in the Community of Word and Sacrament
  • To advance the understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its implications for the professional and occupational life of students in the world
  • To enable and enlighten participation of students in the serving ministry of Christ in the world
  • To provide a program of study, assembly, discussion, and action and to provide for the expression of the fellowship of Christ and of the intellectual and social concerns of campuses, communities, and the world
  • To encourage active participation in the life and mission of the Lutheran churches
  • To promote Lutheran unity
  • To communicate and cooperate with fellow Christians in ecumenical concerns, and to provide opportunities for encounter with and witness for non-Christian persons and groups
